For the first phase of the qualification, the candidate will run the target range miz offline or on stream to a proctor. Candidates will spawn in the first available slot, deploy the weapons as per the provided instructions, reattack as needed, and then switch to the next slot until all slots' takss have been completed.
During the second phase the candidate will perform the role of Element Lead, and the Instructor will perform the role of Element Wingman. The Element Lead is responsible for commanding the Instructor to take any action in their benefit. The instructor will not follow any contract unless specified by Element Lead.
The Element Lead is encouraged to utilize the wingman to complete objectives as appropriate.
The Element Lead will follow the Lead Navigation Contract in the Standard Crew Contract at all times of cruise.
The Element Lead will observe other aspects of The Standard Contract as relevant, such as the Tacform maneuvering contract.
This sortie is a medium range daytime sortie designed to test NAV/TACADMIN capabilities of the candidate, along with self defense A/A engagements, and engagement of moving targets with unguided cluster munitions. This sortie is to be performed live on the CRI-NGE.
This sortie is a medium range nighttime sortied designed to test all weather low level navigation and attack. It consists of approximately 150 miles of low level navigation, a popup dive attack, and instrument landing.
This mission may be flown with NVG's, however this option is a stopgap solution until NAVFLIR Look-In-Turn and Snap Look features are implemented. You are encouraged to use only the NAVFLIR if you are able.
